Cursed Equipment

Cursed is a separate equipment quality. Cursed equipment generally contains regular affixes, curse-area affixes, and one negative curse; Alien and Rune-Cursed equipment use their own structures.

Core Rules

  • Cursed equipment cannot use ordinary forging currency to add or remove affixes.
  • It cannot be enchanted or repaired.
  • It can hold up to 8 regular and curse-area affixes. Negative curses, Sealed Affixes, Infusion Affixes, and Alien T0 affixes are displayed separately.

Generated Cursed Equipment

Generated monster weapons have a default 20% chance to become Cursed. Chests, fishing, and merchants can also produce Cursed equipment.

A generated Cursed item normally has:

  • 3–4 base regular affixes;
  • 2–3 curse-area affixes: 75% for two, 25% for three;
  • curse-area Tiers from T4 through T1;
  • one compatible negative curse;
  • 0–75% initial Infusion Value.

Cursed Variants

Variant Main source Structure and follow-up rules
Cursed equipment Monsters, chests, fishing, trades, or a Sealed Gem on Rare equipment Usually has regular affixes, 2–3 curse-area affixes, and one negative curse. A Sealed Gem preserves existing regular affixes and creates T3–T1 curse-area affixes; a Celestial Sealed Gem can reshape the curse area and negative curse
Alien equipment Monsters, chests, fishing, or an Alien Gem 1–5 random changes that may preserve, strengthen, or weaken the current affix state, or produce T0, an extra maximum-value T2 Sealed Affix, or distortion; see Alien Gem
Rune-Cursed Blank weapon plus specified currency Fixed archetype affixes and additional random affixes; see Rune-Cursed Weapons
